moving...

Hello all! And by all I mean the VERY few who actually take time to read this. Sean and I moved from one end of Seoul right into the heart of th city, from hotel to apartment. We had a large room with AC and right by the subway and maid service, and a gym right in our basement. NOW we have a bed...and a glass walled bathroom (NO joke, look RIGHT in) and we share a kitchen with EVERYONE else on the green floor (that is what they call it. not sure why) which is code for the 17 floor, the top floor that the elavator doesn't even go to! AND I LOVE IT! WE LOVE IT! I never knew when I moved to Utah last year I would be spending my next summer abroad, with my wonderful husband eating cow blood (or hiding it... PRETENDING I ate it) and smelling like kimchi. This is the life and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Sean is learning how Korean law works and I am seeing a part of his life that made him who he is today.
Since I last wrote, Sean and I made a trip down to Junju (NO idea how to spell it) where he served his mission. Here are a few emails I wrote home about what is going on here:

(MONDAY THIS WEEk)
Hello from Seoul, in the lobby of our hotel on a SUPER rainy day! So today is Sean's first day of work. He looked wonderful in his new suit that we got made TO FIT HIS SHOULDERS and narrow waist! I was so proud of him. He looks the part. This last weekend we went down to where Sean served his mission. In Junju, Korea. and I have to say I liked that more then I do up here. There is something of a small town feel to it and the people are nicer. (If that is possible. Korean's are EXTREMELY polite) And the kids loved us. We stayed with a man he baptized and he married a lady from their ward and they have 2 little girls now. One is about 3 and the other is 11 months. But in korean time that is 4 years old and 2. I will explain later how they get old so fast hahahaa. We went down saturday afternoon and we walked ALL over the town. Looking at EVERYTHING and talking to everyone. We had SPEGHETTI for dinner!! Funny thing is ALL the american food here makes me sick. NOTHING Korean does.... SO we have to eat that. A family he loved very much took us out for dinner before we headed over to that man's house he baptized. And they ordered more food then I thought any of us could eat. There was only 4 of us and we had two tables with two grills going full of meat that they kept reloading. AND THAT was only the "meat" not the meal. AFTER that comes more. HUGE bowls of rice or noodles. The lady tried to feed me cow blood and Sean went along with it but her daughter who speaks VERY good english told me what it was and stopped me. SHE SAID NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! its BLOOD!!.... um... cow blood!!??? so I hid it in my plate!

(MONDAY this week)
Hey there daddy of mine! YOu will not believe what I just did! I did the SUBWAY ALL THE WAY downtown to Sean's work by MYSELF! and I did it PERFECT! I definately have your sense of direction, I think you would be proud of me... And all my eating! I AM REALLY DOING IT! KOREAN STYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm GOOD! Kimchi and EVERYTHING! The only think I haven't eaten was the cow's blood! BUT besides that I am doing GREAT! I hope you had a great time with the girls! I bet they are loving you so much! Their FAVORITE grandpa. Miss you!
LOVE YOU
LAUREN
ps SEAN is the one that wants to eat McDonalds!!!!!!!

anyhow.. I gotta to get my laundry, our whole floor shares 3 washers so I gotta be quick. More later and some pictures too!!! TONIGHT!!
PEACE OUT FROM KOREA!!!

I just wanted to tell you how much I love you. So much. Who was there from day one!? EVEN on the bad days? And who is there still, waiting by her computer to hear from her CRAZY daughter who moved to Korea for the summer? My mom... PAMELA ANN FLOYD I LOVE YOU! Thanks for being my mom... Thanks for marrying dad so you could be my mom and raise me the way I was, in the church, with loving parents, knowing who I was and where I am going. Thank you for being strong, strong enough to choose this life for you, and because of that for me too. I am who I am because of you. I live how I do because you showed me how. I love as deeply as I do because you did. I love you because you are honest and straight forward going no crap to nobody and taking none either. I love you all the way to Seoul and back... and that is far (for you) Miss you. and I am thinking of you...
LOOK at your beautiful family!! This is because of YOU!!!!!!!!!!love your daughter LAUREN

KOREA!!!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!

What are you doing? Its 1:30pm here in Seoul and I was just thinking about you. Sean and I toured the city today finding lots of places to eat and shop... We got a few cute things, and found a GREAT place to eat! Lunch for both of us for only $7.00 PLUS you don't tip them here. AND I am sure they wouldn't have earned a great tip. Shouting and telling us to get our own water any how but that's fine. Its been good. We got up at 5:30 am here WOW shocker huh! and headed to the gym.... WELL its 2:30PM your TIME so really we were being lazy. But that is fine. Its been nice to not have to share Sean with school and the library. He is all mine BUT I do feel like I miss out on information being told to us in conversation with the locals, Sean is not great at relaying it back to me. They talk for 5 minutes and he only tells me a 15 second summary. "let me esPLAIN, no wait. There is too much. let me sum UP" that is what he does all the day. Its been fun. He really loves it here, just talking and showing me what is what and ordering my food so I have no idea what is coming for me. Its been so interesting watching him interact with the people here. He loves the culture so much. I will try to get you guys some pictures but I don't know how we will do that now that we are here. We have been taking them but we can't use our laptop we have to use a community computer and I don't want to put a bunch of pictures of Sean and I on it. Out hotel that we are at is nice. Just perfect for us. THE only thing is the air conditioning doesn't work. They keep saying it will but our room is almost 80 degrees right now... So we shall see. There are slippers (plastic ones) that we wear in the bathroom and a place to set our shoes before we put on our house slippers. Sean thinks its funny how I forget for just one second BUT very quickly correct my mistake by leaping off the house floor in my outside shoes not wanting to do something I am not supposed to. I want to do it right and take in all the culture. When we go home I am sure we will have a NO shoes rule in our own home. It makes sense. I think I like it. HOUSE SLIPPERS it will be!!!O today, I got a BEAUTIFUL skirt for $3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS IT! Its so cute and I will look KOREAN for sure in it. maybe... Sean and I also got a pair of korean walking shoes that are cute and black... and will match everything. We got him 2 suits made just for him. TAILORED to his big shoulders and TINY waist. THey should look awesome! I can't wait to see them. We get to pick those up on Friday @ 7:00pm. They man was really nice that is doing that. He speaks self taught english and he is wonderful at it. He calls himself the jokeman (its on his business card!!!) He said when he retires from making suits in 5 years he will go on tour telling jokes like Jim Carey and he listed off a bunch of others, Jamie Fox.. hahahaha, stuff we really don't listen to, but he was VERY enthusiastic about it. Sean and I told him we will come back in 5 years and sit on the front row and cheer him on. He tailored suits for Bill Clinton and his brother. Had a bunch of pictures up in his office of it. He was very proud. He did 30 suits each. Impressive. (he was very proud) He told us jokes about our home town.. I didn't really understand them but Sean laughed hard and when he laughs I end up laughing too. And the man was so goo at delivering them I had to give him a standing ovation. We came back to the hotel where we are staying for the afternoon. Sean is going to try and teach me Korean. And I am going to go try it out someday (when he is at work and I am bored!!!! hahah NOT) I can't imagine being bored here. There are so many things to see. anyhow.. I am going to run across the street real quick and grab a snack. LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!! I will write more to you later.

Miss you lOVE You
LAUREN STEWART
P.S. don't feel bad if you don't want to hear all about our trip! just let me know! I will make sure to not fill up your in BOX!!

Evie Lynn Stewart....

I just have to take a minute and express my gratitude for this wonderful woman that Heavenly Father placed in my life. This last weekend was a long one for me. I won't go into details but I needed someone who knew just what to say and when to just say nothing and just be by me. And this person was Sean's mother, who I consider as dear to me as my own mom. Evie Stewart... Thank you. I needed you so bad and I don't know how anyone could have made me feel better then you did. I love you mom! Thank you... I am so grateful you live close enough that all I have to do is get into the car and head over, and there you are. Don't go anywhere! I love you.

Sean's extended birthday...

HELLO all! So Sean and I went to the UT Jazz vs WA Wizzards last night and it was really fun. I am not one for basketball I grew up in a wrestling family so we never watched basketball. But I really did enjoy it so much. We had great seats and the game was good. We were almost 20 points ahead the whole game and it was great. The people here love their Jazz and it was such a good night for Sean and I. We got to get away from studying and the gym and homework and laundry and just get out and have fun.

Here are the teams getting ready for the game... Standing for the National Anthem.. It was done really well actually. Usually I am not impressed but I was pleasently suprised! The little tiny Jazz Cheereleaders. These girls were so good. I was amazed and I can't wait to have little girls. Sean said they get to do this when we have them..... THEY WERE TINY AND SO GOOD. They did their dance so well and it was so fun to see.

WE WON!!!!! GReAT...

Of course Sean is watching the game while I am trying to take pictures.... Bless his heart. LOVE my husband... HAPPY BIRTHDAY WONDERFUL MAN!

hey so my mom came for the weekend and it was so good to see her. She is always so helpful when she comes to see me. Sean loved it. She jumped in and did the dishes and he didn't have to... That sure made his day. We didn't have a ton of time but it was so fun to have her here. I miss her alot and I was worried I wouldn't be able to see her before we left for Korea. LOVE YOU MOM!!! O And my little brother came down from Rexburg ID. That was fun... The Stewart boys like to see what all he will eat at the Korean Restraunt... Which was EVERYTHING.... We went to my cousin Ali's bridal shower Saturday too. It was fun to have the cousins all together!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN!

this last weekend was my Husband's 26th birthday... A day he has not been looking forward to with a TON of happiness. BUT he didn't seem to dread it either. I did want to make sure he loved his birthday and looked forward to them from now on. SO..
"SUPRISE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN!"
we all yelled as he walked into our home Saturday evening. I have been planning his party for weeks now making sure I had everything for him... Presents, balloons, streamers, LOTS OF CANDY and other goodies and our family there. I had a blast planning it and Sean's reaction showed that he really had no idea what was going on. He just stood there with a terrified look on his face, trying his hardest to figure out why there was so much shouting coming from his home that was supposed to be only holding his wife and her friend... He just stood staring at us.... NOT sure what to think exactly. He had never had a suprise party before and it made his heart stop when we yelled. PERFECT!!! It turned out so well.
I cooked and decorated all day to get ready for this, and did my last minute shopping too. THANKS ERICA FOR PICKING UP HIS BALLOONS AND COMING OVER FOR A "GIRLS DAY filled with SCRAPBOOKING" SO I COULD HAVE A REASON TO MAKE SEAN LEAVE THE HOUSE! We decorated and got the house all ready and then the family arrived... and we had to wait.. Of course Sean had gone to see Kyle and then with Lance to the gym so we couldn't get him home. We sat waiting while he did his workout and then decided he needed to get 2 moves for the night. GRRRRRRREAT Sean... We are all sitting at home practicing "SUPRISE" or "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" or "Don'T MOVE OR I'll SHOOT" we couldn't decide what would be best.
WE went with "SUPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN!" and stayed away from the shooting one. So that was fun. I made Sean's cake... It was banna with bananna cream and chocolate frosting... I got GREAT reviews from the boys like always! And so that was wonderful.
THEN IT WAS PRESENT TIME!
ok... so I am terrible at keeping things a secret. I gave Sean 3 presents this weeks before the party... First his new workout pumas. CAUSE HE HAS LOST HIS OTHER GYM SHOES AND HAS BEEN WEARING HIS NICE FANCY BLACK SCHOOL SHOES TO THE GYM! and I couldn't watch that for another night... HE LOVES THEM. that is good... THEN thanks to one of my customers at the bank I got 2 nights of tickets for the both of us to a hockey game... That should be lots of fun! that was the 3 things I gave him till at the party... WHERE HE GOT HIS LAST PRESENT! LOWER BOWL TICKETS TO THE UTAH JAzZZZ! Oooooo GREAT! I had no idea hw would love them so much. His reaction was GREAT and it made me feel good I could give him such a nice birthday! AND THANKS EVERYONE for coming... It was perfect.

testing out new WATERS

Well... testing out my new camera is more like it. I had some very willing subjects to photograph. It was so wonderful. I got to take out my new camera, and really try it out. I loved it. The quality is amazing. It is a little bit harder to focus then I thought but I am sure with practice I will be AMAZING. (we shall see about that.) At least that is what Sean says.
So I took Sean's brother, Lance and his cutie pie girlfriend Erica into Provo Canyon. They were really good sports and did whatever I wanted. From getting on the ground to crawl on their bellies to basically doing gymnastics on the bridge. I had such a good time, and I think they did too. They told me I am going to be a GREAT photographer cause I keep saying " O you guys looks so CUTE! You look GOOD!" and that anyone would be willing to smile and pose for pictures with compliments like that!
I can't wait to show everyone how they turn out. I was going through them last night with Sean, I think he is always a little suprised at my pictures. I get comments like "Was that your idea? That is so COOL! GOOD idea!" Its fun to have him be proud of me and want me to show off what I can do.
Anyhow, I am going ot get a website up and get my advertising going so I can be IN BUSINESS! I can't wait to jump in and do it. I love this. I love to capture a moment that we could never get back, we can only look back. And I got it. I can't wait to document a part of your life. Freeze that moment in time. And then give it back to you in a small way.
SO.... HERE I COME!

our home....

I don't know if these pictures our home justice... NOT on the looks but how much time and thought I put into our home... Sean too, boy did it take forever to decide where to put the couches. We moved around our home OVER and OVER. And couldn't agree on where we wanted it, we only knew where we DIDN'T want it. Anyways, the pictures above are our living room, and below is our dining room. MY two favorite looking places. They clean up nicely. And Sean loves them. Those curtains are made out of sheets... That I wore to a toga party with Christine and Jessica and Sean and Lance at the boy's house. It was fun. Anyhow... LOVE it. Thanks mom for finding that BEAUTIFUL table and chair set. WE LOVE IT.
